Do not give your password to other people. On shared computers, do not save your credentials in the browser.
Always sign out of email and Microsoft 365 when you finish, especially on a public or unfamiliar device.
Check the complete email address and domain, not only the display name.
Check the actual destination before opening a link. Do not enter credentials on pages reached from suspicious messages.
Do not open unexpected archives, documents or other files, even when the message appears to come from someone you know.
A reply may confirm that your address is active. Use your mail system's spam-reporting features instead.
If confidential material must be sent, use an agreed secure method. Send the password for an encrypted archive through a separate channel.
Do not click links, open attachments or enter your password. If in doubt, contact the network administrator or support team.
